Omega-3 is an essential fatty acid (EFS) derived from fish oil. Fatty acids are the basis of fats and oils and are necessary for overall health and well-being. The human body needs them because they are part of every living cell in the body. EFS are necessary for the regeneration of existing cells and for the production of new cells. Essential fatty acids consist of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), two long-chain fatty acids that have been shown to provide numerous health benefits.

Many studies have shown that fish oil can reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, as well as alleviate depressive disorders. Recent studies have also shown that essential fatty acids supply glucose (from digested carbohydrates) to glycogen storage while blocking other fatty acids for triglyceride synthesis (fat storage) and supplying fatty acid oxidation. Simply put, essential fatty acids apparently store carbohydrates while burning fat.

Our omega-3 supplement contains a maximum of 0.1 ppm of heavy metals. All fish utilized for this product are wild-caught and not farmed.
