The hook-shaped forehead creates a triangular safety zone between the forehead and cheekbones, eliminating the lateral blind spot of classic headguards. Peripheral vision stays wide, allowing the practitioner to see angled strikes coming without turning the head. Wind shields built into the ear protectors reproduce the acoustic sensation of competition.

The exterior is made of Fairtex Syntek synthetic leather, water- and abrasion-resistant. The antimicrobial tear-resistant nylon inner lining wipes clean with a damp cloth and does not absorb sweat. How to choose between S, M, L or XL?

Size is selected based on head circumference, measured just above the ears with a tape measure. S corresponds to 54-56 cm, M to 57-59 cm, L to 60-62 cm, and XL above 62 cm. If the measurement falls between two sizes, take the larger one, as the inner foam compacts slightly after a few sessions. A headguard that is too tight compresses the sinuses and causes headaches during sparring.

Is the HG3 competition-legal?

The HG3 is used in amateur Muay Thai, kickboxing and boxing competition under the rules of federations that require a headguard. For IFMA competitions (international amateur Muay Thai), an approved headguard in red or blue is required depending on the assigned corner. The black HG3 is intended for training and sparring, not official competition.

What is the difference between HG3 and HG10?

The HG3 offers full coverage with a hook-shaped forehead and wide peripheral vision. The HG10 offers similar coverage but in genuine leather, with slightly thicker padding on the cheekbones. How to maintain the HG3?

After each session, wipe the Syntek exterior and inner lining with a damp cloth or antibacterial sport spray. Air-dry for 24 hours, never on a radiator or in direct sunlight, which would crack the Syntek. The nylon lining is designed not to absorb sweat: it dries in a few hours. Never machine-wash.
