MMA Gloves Fairtex ONE Championship — XL

The Fairtex FGV12 ONE grappling gloves are the official gloves of ONE Championship, one of the most-watched combat sports organisations in the world. They were co-developed with ONE Championship to meet the demands of high-level competition in MMA and submission grappling with strikes.

The central feature of the FGV12 ONE is its original independent finger system: each finger is housed in a separate sleeve rather than a common pocket, preserving the individual mobility of each finger for grips, chokes and joint locks. The pre-curved padding on the knuckle zone allows the fist to form easily from the moment the glove is put on, without additional muscular effort to close the hand on impact.

The exterior is genuine leather, hand-stitched at the Fairtex workshop in Bangkok, founded in 1958. The competition construction aims to provide the regulatory minimum of padding on the knuckles while retaining the finger freedom of movement essential to grappling. Available in black, in sizes S, M, L and XL.

Frequently asked questions

What is the independent finger system of the FGV12 ONE?

On classic MMA gloves, the four fingers are grouped in a single common pocket. On the FGV12 ONE, each finger is housed in an individual sleeve, allowing it to flex and grip independently. This construction preserves the mobility of the bare hand, which is decisive in grappling for controlling the opponent's wrist, initiating a choke, or transitioning to a joint lock. The difference is most noticeable on lapel grips and guard transitions.

Are these gloves usable only at ONE Championship competitions?

No, the FGV12 ONE are the officially approved ONE Championship gloves but can be used in any competition or organisation that accepts open-finger grappling gloves with pre-curved padding. They also suit technical MMA sparring in the gym, in clubs training under MMA rules with grips, ground strikes and transitions. Outside competition, they work on MMA pads and in combined striking and grappling sequences.

How to choose size between S, M, L and XL?

Size is selected based on hand circumference, measured around the knuckles without the thumb. S fits hands up to about 17 cm, M from 17 to 19 cm, L from 19 to 21 cm and XL above 21 cm. For competition grappling gloves, fit must be precise with no empty space inside: unlike boxing gloves, going one size up for comfort is not recommended as it would impair grip precision.

What is the difference between FGV12 ONE and FGV18?

The FGV12 ONE is a competition glove with independent fingers and minimal padding for maximum grappling mobility. The FGV18 is a sparring glove developed for Alistair Overeem with extra-thick knuckle padding for heavy punchers. The FGV12 ONE is approved for ONE Championship competition, while the FGV18 is intended for intensive training sessions. Both are genuine leather and handmade in Thailand, but their uses are fundamentally different.

How to maintain genuine leather grappling gloves?

After each session, wipe the leather exterior with a damp cloth and air-dry for 24 hours, away from radiators and direct sunlight. The leather can be conditioned every 2 to 3 months with a neutral leather balm to prevent drying and cracking. Never machine-wash or use solvents. For the inner lining, an antibacterial sport spray applied after each use extends the glove's lifespan and prevents odour.
