Description Boxing Gloves Twins Yaksha Black – 16oz
The Twins Yaksha FBGVL4-63 boxing gloves are built on the BGVL4 cut, the reworked version of the classic BGVL3. The padding on the back of the glove has been refined to reduce excess bulk without changing the protection level. Result: a more compact glove in clinch, more precise for grabbing, controlling and striking.
Construction is based on genuine Thai leather, hand-stitched at the Twins Special workshop in Samut Sakhon. The multi-layer inner foam absorbs the repeated impacts of pad and sparring sessions. The attached contoured thumb keeps the hand in a natural position to reduce twisting risk on impact.
The Yaksha pattern is inspired by Thailand's mythological guardians, found at the entrance of Buddhist temples. The decoration is engraved and stitched onto the black leather, without surface print that could fade after a few months of use. Available in 10, 12, 14 and 16 oz.

Frequently asked questions
How to choose between 10, 12, 14 and 16 oz?
Glove weight depends on use and body size. 10 oz suits heavy-bag work for body weights up to 65 kg. 12 oz is the versatile choice for pads and bag for most practitioners between 65 and 80 kg. 14 oz is the standard size for sparring up to 80 kg. 16 oz is required for sparring above 80 kg, for partner safety. Internal volume changes very little between sizes: it's the padding that thickens.
What is the difference between BGVL3 and BGVL4?
The BGVL4 is the evolution of the BGVL3 with reworked back padding that is less bulky. Protection level remains equivalent, but the glove is more compact, which improves clinch work and pad precision. Overall shape, wrist fit and leather quality remain those of the BGVL3. The Yaksha FBGVL4-63 uses this BGVL4 base.
Is the Yaksha competition-legal?
Yes for training and sparring under all Muay Thai and boxing federations. For official competition, rules generally require neutral gloves without decorative pattern, and the color may be imposed by the organizing federation (red or blue depending on the corner). The Yaksha is primarily an intensive-training glove and a club identity piece.
How long does the leather break-in take?
Twins leather requires 4 to 8 sessions to soften and conform to the hand. During this period, the glove is intentionally firm: this allows the leather to deform at stress points rather than stretching uniformly. Once broken in, Twins gloves keep their shape for several years of regular use.
How to care for genuine leather gloves?
Air gloves out after each session, never in a closed bag. Wipe the interior with a dry cloth or antibacterial sport spray, and let air-dry for 24 hours. The leather exterior can be conditioned every 2 to 3 months with a neutral leather balm. Never machine-wash, never store near a radiator, and never expose to direct sunlight, as this would crack the leather.
