Muay Thai in Switzerland is evolving fast, and a new generation of fighters is starting to stand out. One of them is Kingsley Nwadike. At just 18 years old, he became Swiss champion after less than two years in the sport.
What makes his story interesting is not just the result, but how fast and how smart the progression was. In this interview, he shares what really happens behind the scenes: the reality of training, the pressure before fights, and the mistakes most beginners make.
The Swiss Muay Thai scene is growing, and fighters like Kingsley prove that with the right mindset and structure, rapid progress is possible.
At Team Master, he trains in a demanding environment, surrounded by experienced fighters, notably alongside Julio Sertao, which significantly accelerates his development.
Kingsley began training at the end of 2023 with no background in combat sports. Like many beginners, he thought he was physically ready—until he stepped into a real gym.
“Everyone thinks they can fight until they step into a gym.”
Instead of rushing into competition, he made a key decision: take time, build fundamentals, and wait until his coaches said he was ready.
Don’t rush into fighting. In Muay Thai, impatience can cost you more than just a loss.
Very quickly, Kingsley understood that Muay Thai has nothing to do with street fighting. It’s about precision, timing and control.
He experienced it firsthand: smaller, lighter fighters dominating him simply because they were more technical.
Real level is built on fundamentals, not flashy techniques.
The biggest transformation wasn’t physical—it was mental. Before Muay Thai, Kingsley struggled with anger and confidence. Today, he stays calm even under pressure.
Fighting teaches you to think clearly in chaos. If you panic, you lose control—and often the fight.
Many beginners focus on strength. In reality, cardio is what often decides the outcome.
Without cardio, you last 30 seconds. With cardio, you control the entire fight.
Kingsley shares a tough experience: mismanaging his weight just one week before a fight.

The right equipment is not optional—it’s part of your progression and your safety.

Yes. Without endurance, technique breaks down quickly. Cardio allows you to apply your skills throughout the fight.
Yes. Kingsley started late and still became Swiss champion, proving that consistency matters more than age.
